Romanie Lettuce
Organic Farming
Hi,
I'm Romaine Lettuce
Romaine lettuce (Lactuca sativa L. var. Longifolia) originated from the Greek island of Cos (Kos), off the coast of Turkey in the Aegean Sea. It is packed with vitamins and minerals, making it a healthy snack to eat.
Best Condition for Growing
Romaine lettuce grows best in rich, well-drained soil and requires 4-6 hours of sunlight daily. The ideal weather to grow lettuce is when it is cool with a temperature of 15-20°C, although it is able to withstand temperatures up to 30°C. To plant it, sow the seeds 1 cm deep into the soil. Once the seedlings grow 2-3 true leaves, replant the seedling so they would be 6 inches apart. After 70-75 days, the seedlings should have matured and would be ready to harvest.
